Trials and Tribulations of Referral Agency Legislation in CA
Linda has been involved with referral agency legislation since 2014, working with lobbyists and legislators to identify and prevent potentially harmful legislation and to encourage establishing some common-sense minimum standards for our profession. She will present a brief history of her experiences in Sacramento, with a focus on this year's current bill, AB499: including how this bill evolved to the current version, what it will mean, what may affect our businesses if it passes, and most importantly, how all NPRA members and affiliates can help.
Linda Armas is President of Clear Choice Senior Services. She has over 30 years’ experience in the healthcare field. Her credentials include; BA in Biology, Certified Placement and Referral Specialist (CPRS), Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), Certificate in Gerontology, Residential Care Facility for Elderly (RCFE) Administrator. She is a founding National board member of National Placement and Referral Alliance (NPRA).
Linda also serves as current President of the board of Orange Senior Center. She serves on the Board of North Orange County Senior Collaborative (NOCSC), where she is Chair of the Elder Abuse Awareness work group.and has been co-chair of the annual Elder Abuse Awareness Day event. She is a consultant on the Financial Abuse Specialists Team (FAST). She has received various awards: Fairhaven Memorial’s Oliver Halsell Care Award, which pays tribute to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional care in their profession, Community Lifetime Achievement in Senior Services award from the Orange County Board of Supervisors for her work on elder abuse awareness and prevention. She has also been a founding member and past Nominee and Finalist for the annual Senior Care Hero Awards event.
